| How did this happen? How did a team tied together with twistix go on to replace teams that actually did something their respective years? Looking at the Houston Rockets from the outside I see Tracy Mcgrady. I see Rick Adelman. I see Shane Battier and I see Carl Landry. Luis Scola had some moments but neither of these roleplayers could CADDY for T-Mac let alone entertain the second option that a playoff squad -- Championship contender -- needs. Does that sound like a club that's meant to nab the second longest winning streak in NBA history? Regardless, Tracy is about to get bounced once again in the first round. Without Yao they're pretty much garanteed this fate I suppose but since they went 22-0 I guess the Mac/Ming experiment will be tolerated for another year. Let's face it I don't care how many winning streak this current group puts together even with Ming they aren't going far. One way or another one of them is going to break a nail(in this case toenails) and it's not going to work if the owner values selling tickets. Let's hope though for Houston's sake the new General Manager finds a charitable bone in his body that would grant Rick Adelman the injury insurance he's going to need for this squad to have a chance in the 09' postseason. Is it too outside the box to consider for a moment they may need to add another legit player? Ala Maggette, or dare I mention a competant one guard that can have more than two quality months to his resume as a Rocket? To this point Rafer Alston is still known for only one thing. Bouncing balls off dude's faces in Rucker Park. It's actually sad to see a guy like Mcgrady decline with a franchise that has rode him like a carousel along with Ming all the while surrounding them with mediocre and NBDL talent. The roleplayers have been upgraded this year (Along with the coach) but there's not alot you can do unless Les Alexander stops being a scrooge and does something with that imported yuan and money that goes to the Rocket Power Dancer's PETA booty-shorts. Let's make Daryl Morey's job alot simpler. Why not? He's proved that he's a quality exec. Now don't give me that line about how all that money is divided evenly among the NBA owners bs. The man owns holdings in "China Railway Group Ltd., China Sinoma International Engineering Co. Ltd., Uni President Enterprises Corp., Xinjiang XinXin Mining Industry Co. Ltd., and Anta Sports Products Ltd., an athletic shoe and clothing manufacturer." That's not to mention his partnership in his latest venture in a Chinese automotive group. |
